A deli! A real live deli with pastrami and liver (ugh) and lox and matzoh and joy joy joy, right in Paris!
While the East Coast West Deli in San Francisco has the misfortune of sending me to the door, pale and retching, through no fault of your own (note: oil and gefiltefisch don’t mix with hangovers and need for starchy pancakes), Karin dug up this place on Rue Caron in Le Marais.
The Sunday brunch is pretty good, especially the salmon, but I’d go with the rest of the menu, which looked amazing. Especially the salmon. There’s a really nice balcony out front, and while I wasn’t really in the mood for their house-flavored vodkas, you can forget the stressed waiters (and the bitchy and disgusted-looking Parisiennes sitting next to you) in the sunshine. Lox for the win.
